Through the story of a famous hero, Spirou, Émile Bravo tells the story of the Second World War to a very wide audience, anchoring his work in three historical realities: the Occupation, the Resistance and the Shoah. The exhibition, which runs until 30 August at the Shoah Memorial in Paris, features original comic strips by Émile Bravo alongside artworks by the real-life German-Jewish painter Felix Nussbaum, who befriended Spirou in the comic strip.
Until 30 June, Dagoty Auctions is holding its 19th online auction dedicated to comic strips. Nearly 500 lots, including many original strips and drawings, will be offered for sale. Lots can be viewed by appointment in Brussels. The full catalogue is available online
