Welcome to the home web site for the 567th Strategic Missile Squadron. The 567th SMS was based at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington from 1961 thru 1965. There were 9 sites built in a ring around Cheyenne. These sites were manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year during the time the Squadron was active. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, all 567th sites were at a high level of alert and were ready to launch the Atlas missile should it have become necessary. The squadron was armed with the SM-65 wea
