Aeterna Noctis feels like a traditional 2D Metroidvania mixed with unique gameplay mechanics never seen before. Taking the role of the 'King of Darkness' you must regain your power exploring the vast lands of the world of 'Aeterna' across 16 different and connected areas in a pure Metroidvania style. Frame by frame animation using hand-drawn style confers a singular personality to the title, making different every single level and character and also belonging to the Aeterna Noctis universe.
Chaos created space-time and populated the vast void with innumerable beings. Upon contemplating his creation he named it… Aeterna. Two enemy main factions were born: Light and Darkness. Outraged, Chaos cursed both leaders with immortality, and the first of the cycles began. The Queen of Light and the King of Darkness would fight to the death for the throne of Aeterna and to restore equilibrium until the end of all existence.
