Our state is undergoing a demographic shift that represents unprecedented opportunities - and some challenges - related to a population that grows older and more diverse each day. With more than a million Minnesotans age 65+ (that is more than the number of school age children for the first time in our state's history) Minnesota must ensure aging is strategic priority.
There are many stakeholders in the field of aging, and each plays a crucial role. Age-Friendly Minnesota provides a unifying framework to catalyze and coalesce this work across multiple sectors, including state and local governments, the non-profit and private sectors, as well as researchers, philanthropy partners and others.
Grounded in values of diversity, equity, inclusion and access, the Age-Friendly Minnesota movement builds on the positive momentum and commitment we have as a state to ensure that Minnesota is a vibrant, prosperous place where all can choose how they live as they age.
