It is not necessarily what I see, but what whispers to me in that moment of inspiration that urges me to express my visual interpretation by layering paint onto canvas.
Nature and the landscape in its varied forms serve as my key inspiration, but the journey creating a painting is what excites me, brings me joy, and guides me throughout the creative experience to the finished artwork. While I lay out my paintings with a brush, it is working with a palette knife that always completes my paintings. Scraping, smooshing, smearing and scumbling, allowing the colors to mix and mingle on the canvas producing a visual dance that breathes a new life into the original inspiration...
