Description: Academic and professional homepage of Ali G. Sheikh, a mathematics PhD student at Purdue University and former engineer at X-Nav Technologies.
I am interested in inverse problems, especially those that arise from imaging applications (geophysical, medical, space, etc). My area of research is also known as computational imaging, which is a very modern term (I like this explanation of what computational imaging is).
Before graduate school, I was an engineer at a startup where I worked on an optical, computer vision-based surgical navigation system called the X-Guide . During those years, I had the pleasure of being mentored by Jason Gibbs .
I studied electrical engineering with a focus on signal processing as an undergraduate at Penn State University.
