Christians young and old must be familiar with a certain body of basic knowledge forming a shared basis of communal faith, and enabling us to say together, “Jesus is Lord!” While the better knowledge does not necessarily make us the better Christian, we invest in a basic shared understanding of facts, interpretations, doctrines, language, and practices that enable us to be a stronger faithful community. This class will be run as a roundtable discussion, with a leader providing some important ideas and source materials, and encouraging an open interaction with participants. A survey such as this will necessarily skim over many details. Resources including short readings and in-class video or audio (podcast or similar) will be distributed in advance where possible.
