Recorded over the past two years, Which Way to the Starlite was whittled from over 120 newly-recorded songs. During that recording process, several ideas and musical styles were explored, but when the time came to seriously start the song consideration process, the eleven tracks chosen for this release literally fell into place on their own, during a Wednesday evening listening party over tacos in mid-October of 2021.
There is a thread running through the tracks that would lead some to rightfully place this album in the "concept" bin of their local record stores or even dare to say Starlite is a true sequel to my 1995 release Home . Topics such as love, kindness, personal growth, professional growth, and human well-being ( along with one blistering blues track about a car ) are all touched on with a bit of humor and grace.
