The Astor has been build in 1904 (11 floors over ground) closed in 1967 and demolished at 1969 to be replaced by a tall office tower. With its enormous public rooms and an elaborate roof garden, the Astor Hotel was seen as a successor to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
