Description: The Australian Motorcycle Dealers Association (AMDA) the national body representing the interests of motorcycle dealers, retailers and repairers. Policy issues considered by AMDA include the consumer safety, franchising and competition matters.
MTAA members are providing updates to their members on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) including information about occupational health and safety, workplace relations and other important information. In addition, each state government and the commonwealth government are providing assistance packages to help businesses.
Each year the MTAA, through its member associations and ATDRA, receives numerous concerns and complaints of cases of unfair franchising arrangements, miss use of market power, anti-competitive conduct and issues concerning business and consumer rights.
MTAA is collecting evidence to advocate to Government for a review of the Franchising Code so that it can better reflect the requirements of automotive businesses (including those that retail tyres) or potentially be replaced with legislative instruments that do.
