Many of you may not agree with my tastes in country music. I’m a hardcore traditionalist when it comes to country music. Now I should say that most pre 1960 stuff is a little too mellow me except for a couple exceptions, Hank, Patsy and a small handfull of others. Four Merle Haggard tunes in the first set done very nicely, my personal favorite. George Jones, “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. Only once in all my years of hangin out in bars did I hear anyone attempt that song. They also did tunes by many other artists from this era and did a damn nice job. The bass player was a bit stiff and I understand he has been replaced, along with the lead guitar player. It’s obvious that they are still working the bugs out, but they have a promising future.
