The Beth Longwell Foundation's mission is to positively impact the lives of children through support of charities and organizations in the areas of childhood education, non-smoking lung cancer research, and grief support for children who have lost a parent.
On August 20, 2007, Beth Levitas Longwell lost her battle with lung cancer.聽Diagnosed on June 5th, just days after her 39th birthday, Beth soon learned that the cancer had already progressed to Stage 4. Always the optimist, Beth confronted the realities of her terrible illness for the next 11 weeks, modeling unimaginable strength and inspiration for all those around her.
Beth was an incredibly intelligent woman who loved learning and shared this love with all whom she encountered. A voracious reader and learner, she actively pursued and valued self-edification her entire life.聽 She understood the importance of educating others. To pursue her personal goals and to help others, Beth chose a career in teaching.
