Some years ago, I met a fellow at a friend’s wedding who asked me about the letters I wrote each week from my fire tower, and said that he knew a publisher. Several years and adventures later, Between Forest and Sky – a fire tower journal was published by Heritage House Publishers. Although the book only contains the first three seasons of my tower career, 2008 will be my seventh season on the towers, and it continues to be every bit as exciting and fulfilling as those first years.
