Sarah Billings Wheeler is a dance teacher in New York City, with extensive experience as a performer, choreographer and dance educator covering a range of dance styles.
After spending her youth studying Ballet with Sherry Adams (founding director of the Vermont Chamber Ballet Company) and Mireille Briane and Oleg Briansky, Sarah moved on to Modern Dance while an undergraduate at Barnard College. At Barnard she studied Graham technique with Ellen Graff, Taylor Technique with Carolyn Adams and danced for guest choreographers (Jody Oberfelder).
Sarah continued to train in both Ballet and Modern Dance in New York City before discovering the world of DanceSport. For over a decade, she was a dance teacher in nyc, and competed and performed in regional, national and international competitions. During that time, she worked for several years as a teaching artist with American Ballroom Theater’s ‘Dancing Classrooms’ outreach program in the New York City Public Schools.
