Description: Brainstorm for a Cure is the brainchild of brain cancer patient Sarah Mamalai, who lost three dear friends in 2011 to the same, cruel disease as her own. To honour their memories, raise awareness and funds for research, she hatched the idea of creating a unique charity event – a major music benefit party in the national capital.

Brainstorm for a Cure came to life in 2014, when brain cancer survivor Sarah Mamalai lost five close friends, one of whom was just 15 years old, to the same cruel disease as her own. Their legacy is Sarah’s ‘brain-child’ – the unique charity event Brainstorm for a Cure – a Party for Hope.
24 August 2019 will see Canberra’s sixth Brainstorm for a Cure. This year’s ‘Party in the Jungle’ theme will build on the vibrant atmosphere of previous events, which differentiates Brainstorm for a Cure from other gala fundraising events. Entertainment is always 5-star, with past headliners including ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Daryl Braithwaite, Aussie rock legends Hoodoo Gurus, the Baby Animals, and last year’s Jon Steven’s, who rocked the roof off the AIS.
A sell-out every year, with 2018 selling out in just one week of tickets going on sale, 2019 will be no different. With an audience of 900, many guests have strong links in business, politics and sport as local, regional and national influencers.
