Obesity is of especially great concern because it is closely connected with greater likelihood of various serious diseases, including diabetes.  It is with good reason that the CDC refers to an "obesity epidemic," pointing out that "obesity costs this country about $150 billion a year, or almost 10 percent of the national medical budget....
