Being told that you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer is possibly the scariest thing that has ever happened to you. By sharing information and the experiences of others, we hope this website will help you find strength and even inspiration during this challenging time in your life.
Since 1996, the NWT Breast Health/Breast Cancer Action Group (Action Group) has provided leadership and initiatives through the perspective of women diagnosed with breast cancer in the NWT. The Action Group works to identify new needs and opportunities to advance work on breast health, breast cancer and general cancer issues in the NWT.
Our volunteer board is comprised of like-minded northern women doing what we can to promote breast health awareness, and support women diagnosed with cancer in the NWT. Some, but not all, of us are cancer survivors too. The NWT Breast Health/Breast Cancer Action Group has no paid staff.
