I approach public speaking with a mix of both art and science, using my expertise in Psychology and Neuroscience to complement a vast range of lived experiences. I leave the audience with a holistic understanding of the topic, as well as actionable ways to implement the learnings into their everyday lives. Bias is a neurological process that impacts everything we do. This talk aims to demystify this process, with research and everyday examples of it’s impact. Audience members leave with clear ways to mitigate the negative impact bias can cause.
It is no secret that software has a gender parity problem. In this talk, I use historical context along with my lived experiences, to explain why this disparity exists. I aim to encourage more women to jump into software, while also providing business leaders with actionable ways to make software a more inclusive career for all.
