I’ve traced the ancestors of my father’s French-Canadian parents back to France in the 16th and 17th centuries. Our immigrant ancestors included a Huron native, brave French women and soldiers sent to Québec by the King of France to tame the Canadian wilderness along the St. Lawrence River.
