In dark times I stood before blank paper and demanded it become a vessel for all my grief, anger and fear. I painted with no reference, only energy and movement mattered. As the layers went on, characters of help and hindrance converged upon the panels. Fright and comfort tangled together in a difficult dance. Like dream figures, they had something to tell me.
