In 2013, when The Guardian launched its Global Development Professionals section, I became its regular food security correspondent. I have also written for the Sustainable Business section and for Guardian Labs.
From 2016 to 2019, I ran the UK Parliament's All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Agriculture and Food for Development . I produced reports and briefing papers for Parliamentarians on topics including rural infrastructure, climate risk insurance, and aquaculture. I also led delegations to Sierra Leone and Uganda to visit development projects run by NGOs and UN organisations such as FAO, IFAD and WFP.
