Hello. I’m Charmgil Hong.

I am an assistant professor in the School of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and the School of Applied Artificial Intelligence at Handong Global University , Korea. My research interests focus on developing and applying machine learning and data mining techniques to solve large and complex data-driven problems. Before joining Handong, I had the privilege of studying under the guidance of Dr. Milos Hauskrecht and earning my PhD from the University of Pittsburgh .

Recent years, I have been primarily working on: (1) Machine learning with different modalities; (2) Outlier detection and video anomaly detection; and (3) Applications of (1) and (2) to the medical and industrial domains.
