Since its brilliant 1971 renovation with the guidance of American Post-Modernist "starchitect" Charles Moore, this inspiring church-to-residence conversion has a one-of-a-kind pedigree, and a forty-year legacy of ownership by artisans. From 2001 to 2009, a series of popular "house concerts" in the living room became a cultural high point in the lower Connecticut River Valley.
The Church House Concert series hosted its final event on May 22, 2009. This site remains as documentation of the eight year run of about sixty events which brought intimate world-class musical performances to the lower Connecticut River Valley. The event hosts no longer produce musical events in Connecticut. The property has been sold to owners who have expressed no intention of hosting concerts. Performers’ inquiries will not be responded to, and the current owners should not be disturbed.
