The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place as the "Town of Canon" in 1902, with the town corporate limits extending in a one-mile radius from the intersection of Broad and Depot streets.
Elected Persons Annie Wallace is the Mayor here in Canon. Canon also has a 4 member council. Council Member - Eli Brown Council Member - Dale Garner Council Member - Bobby Locke Council Member - Cullen Morgan Council Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month, @ 6:00 p.m.
