After raising money from area climbers and the Access Fund, the RCA purchased a tract of privately-owned land which holds The Meadows wall, 5.8 Crag, and the Monsters From The Id crag. RCA activists then sold the land, at a monetary loss, to the United States Forest Service - ensuring future access for climbers and permanent protection for Rumney Rocks' eastern crags.
In 2016, the RCA again joined forces with the Access Fund. The Access Fund provided the RCA with a low-interest loan, enabling the group to purchase Rumney's "Final Frontier." This 86-acre tract includes Rumney's western crags: The Prudential, Asylum, Buffalo Pit, Buffalo Corral, Northwest Territories, Very Nice Crack area, Boundary Rock, and part of the Blackjack Boulders.
The RCA has worked to build three parking lots at Rumney to improve climbing access - the newest of which is a $12,000 gravel lot that opened in fall 2017 at the Buffalo Pit.
