A National Survey on Drug and Health reported that in America 35.3 million people ages 12 and older reported having used cocaine (Drug Free World, 2014). When unemployed people in Colombia were offered honest jobs many have turned away from the harming coca industry that has left too many of their relatives dead. The creation of honest jobs is a great need exacerbated by the over 1 million Venezuelan immigrants that are also looking for work in Colombia.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has published results of its studies which sadly paint the grim reality that for the year 2009 the staggering number of 621,000 children ages 5 to 14 were out of school in Colombia...
