I am a Professor in the School of Philosophy at the Australian National University. I am a member of the ANU Centre for Philosophy of the Sciences , and part of ANU's Humanising Machine Intelligence project. I am also a lead investigator on The Major Transitions in The Evolution of Cognition project funded by TWCF. Before ANU, I taught at Macquarie University , and before that I spent a year as a visiting research fellow in the Centre for Consciousness at the ANU. My first job was at the University of
