Description: On April 26, 2007, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter signed into law Senate Bill 07-086 endorsing a memorial to be erected to honor Coloradans killed during these 20th and 21st century military conflicts: World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq This law created the Colorado Fallen Heroes Memorial Commission and we are charged with memorial design, location selection and all fundraising.

The memorial and grounds were designed by Rosenman Associates Architects in collaboration with Robert Root, FAIA, and Richard Farley, FAIA, the original architects of the Colorado Veterans Monument. Their design pays respectful tribute to Colorado’s fallen by seamlessly integrating the classic, historic design of the Capitol and the iconic design of the Veterans Monument.
