After graduating from Tufts University, Cotton settled into a traditional career in technology solutions but the loss of her younger brother landed her in a very dark place. It wasn't until Cotton took a leap of faith and agreed to tell jokes at a local nightclub that her bipolar depression began to subside. To the pleasant surprise of family members, even though Cotton's first attempt at comedy didn't go as planned, she tried again the very next night and has never looked back.
