Cream City Coders (C3) was born out of an unmet need in Milwaukee's inner city for computer science training for underserved youth. Under the vision of co-founder, Benjamin Juarez, the group was put together to develop short-term, intensive “code academies” to teach computer programming to youth ranging from the age of 11 to 18, as well as adults looking for a new experience or a career transition!
The idea of teaching computer programming to youth—in particular youth in Milwaukee’s inner-city—stems from a need to give them the ability to empower themselves. Many of our inner-city children have little to no knowledge of the possibilities of computer programming, and it is our intent to introduce them to a new world of real possibilities . Ongoing services: A 6-session course dedicated to learning and applying a single object oriented computer programming (OOP) language: Python, Swift (Apple), or JavaScript. Classes are weekly, tailored to the availability of the students.
