Lee is a seventh generation Johnson Countian and is dedicated to preserving the broad range of opportunities the College offers to students. Lee is a father of two, proud husband and an attorney. Before attending the University of Kansas and UMKC Law School, JCCC provided Lee with the launchpad he needed to jump start his career.

Lee has focused on emphasizing the valuable economic development asset the College provides our community. We must maintain the College’s strengths, while being flexible enough to adapt to an ever-changing economy. Locally and regionally, the private market depends on the skilled workers that our College produces to continue to make Johnson County a regional economic leader.

Lee grew up in a middle class family. When Lee was a kid, his mom and dad both attended and graduated from JCCC, earning new professions that provided the Cross family with the hand up they needed. Lee understands first-hand how important JCCC is to providing new opportunity for working class families in the Johnson County metropolitan region.
