Danny Bergara holds a special place in the heart of County fans. “The Man from Uruguay” truly put Stockport County on the footballing map, winning promotion for the first time in twenty four years and leading the team out at Wembley on four separate occasions.
More than twenty-five years after Danny left County, our two supporter groups are confident the time has come to honour our legendary former manager. Stockport County Supporters Co-operative and Help the Hatters would like to commission a life-size bronze statue of Danny, which will take pride of place outside Edgeley Park.
