Description: 'Representing the Deafblind Community in Victoria'
“Hello everyone, it’s Andrew Howard here with a new Deafblind tips video. Today I’ll be talking about flashing wristbands, here I’ll show you instead”
Andrew takes out a rolled-up fluorescent yellow wristband from his pocket and wraps it around his arm and turns it on and it starts flashing a bright green colour.
“Great, huh? You can use these flashing wristbands to help when hailing a taxi, especially when its cloudy or dark weather. When you raise your hand to catch the taxi, the driver will see the flashing wristband. Besides helping to catch a taxi, the flashing wristbands can help when catching public transport like trains, trams and buses. They help mostly when its overcast and cloudy, or at night time and when light is limited. You can buy these from a bicycle shop for around $20 each”
