Donna has been making wearable art since graduating FIT in 1976. She supported herself for years as an OR nurse, but continued to sew, and found her calling in creating Art Dolls. She came back to wearable art in 2010, designing and creating clothes for girls 12 months to 4 years. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and takes 30-40 hours to make. Her inspiration comes from vintage and antique catalogues and books. From there she designs and makes her own patterns, constructs the clothing and lovingly embellishes th
Donna's dolls are a unique combination of pattern drafting, sewing skills, embellishment and oil portraiture. She began her career as a fashion designer but eventually added dollmaking to her creative endeavors. Her dolls range from expressive toddlers to colorful clowns and wild fantasy creatures. She became a member of the prestigious National Institute of American Doll Artists in 1999 and president in 2009.
