We are Dorchester’s largest LGBTQ+ organization dedicated to civic outreach, social out-letting, political engagement and giving back to the communities we live in. Last year we had some intermittent high points including a progressive annual Spring meeting, a rocking Pride event and a fall party but have yet to fully get our groove back. This year we hope that can change. Facebook and Instagram continue to serve as our most up to date outlets however, we do try to check in on our website to update things.
Not all of us suffered during the pandemic but many in Dorchester are still struggling to make ends meet. We donated in the fall to VietAid, an organization striving to ensure access to affordable basic services for the Vietnamese community in Dorchester. Additional services include providing small businesses aid in the form of technical services and access to space. We also stayed engaged with the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute providing healing and recovery services to those grieving the death of a loved
Don’t take your rights for granted. There are a litany of anti-LGBTQ+ laws getting passed. On the flip side there are a variety of protection acts that need your support. The Fair and Equal Housing Act adds sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected characteristics under the Fair Housing Act to prevent you from being denied housing.
