Fine Art and Beautiful Quilts
Bob - I work in pastel, oil and acrylics. Darlene, my wife, makes beautiful quilts. We worked together for many years, building successful practices in healthcare consulting and architecture. Now, as we do our separate arts we still look over each other’s shoulder and offer critique, encouragement or consolation, as needed.
As a kid I liked to draw and loved working with my dad as he planned and hand-built our small motel in Western Nebraska – and that led me to a career in architecture. Frank Lloyd Wright, whose only Nebraska building is in my home town McCook, was an early inspiration - his dictum "Design with nature" resonates still. And Le Corbusier's words still apply in my art as they did in architecture - "Creation is a patient search."
