Research About Me I am an associate professor in the Political Science department at the University of Houston . My research uses survey and experimental data to explore the behavior of both candidates and voters in U.S. elections. More specifically, my work looks at the causes and consequences of candidate position-taking, individual issue preferences and their effects, and how non-policy factors influence voters’ decisions and behaviors.
I hold a Credential in Effective College Teaching from the Association of College and Univerity Educators . My teaching has been recognized by the University of Houston Teaching Excellence Provost Core Award (2017) and the Univerity of Houston CLASS Ross M. Lence Teaching Excellence Award (2022).
