I am an East Londoner born and bred, growing up in a working class estate and being educated in Hackney state schools as part of a diverse community. I understand the people of Thurrock and they will understand me.
I am a union activist and officer of nearly 20 years standing. Representing people is in my blood, and now I want to use my years of national campaigning experience to bring Thurrock back to Labour. From the commuters struggling with rising fares, to the families seeing funding cut from their children’s education, from the workers seeing their pay packets having to stretch further each year, to our elderly people being let down by a care system in crisis.
