I'm Emma Thatcher, a filmmaker, actor, and photographer. After studying drama at NYU, I began producing, writing, directing, and editing my own short films. My work focuses on intimate, humanistic stories. I often use improvisation on set so that the actors can bring their own voice & behavior to their characters. My first feature film, Provo, is currently in its festival circuit. Provo has won the Audience Award at Chicago Underground Film Festival, Best Narrative Feature, Best Actress, and Audience
