If you are visiting Bulgaria , why not use the chance to experience for yourselves the beauty of its mountains? My offer is to take you for an invigorating hike along the lesser-known paths of the mountains around Sofia – Vitosha, Lyulin and Plana. Or we could go farther away to Rila (a full-day trip or longer), Pirin (at least two days) or Stara Planina (a full-day trip or longer).
For single-day trips, we may go to any of the less frequented starting points for hikes in the Vitosha mountain like Kladnitsa, Zheleznitsa or Vladaya. We may also go to a more popular starting point like Zlatni mostove or Aleko and then choose a quiet route.
We will hope to see some wild life – deer roes and does, wild goats, hares, birds. Depending on the season, we may pick wild berries on the way or negotiate snow paths. Almost any weather can be fun as long as you bring good hiking boots and appropriate clothes. Prepare for an offline day out of town that will charge your batteries and make every bite and sip at day’s end taste great.
