Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) is a group of plastic surgery procedures that transform masculine facial features into softer, more feminine facial features. For some, Facial Feminization Surgery can be the most gender-affirming surgical step taken in a MTF gender transition. Also referred to as Facial Gender Confirmation Surgery (FGCS) , these procedures are sought out by transgender women and non-binary trans people, as well as cis gender women.
There are numerous differences between male and female facial traits , and they can vary with age, ethnicity, and hormonal replacement therapy. FFS can address these differences in one or more procedures, such as forehead sculpting and contouring, mandible contouring, "Adam's apple" reduction, jaw and chin shaving, chin implants, rhinoplasty and cheek augmentation. FFS is customizable: you can pick and choose which procedures to have based on your personal transition goals and your Surgeon's recommendations
