The SJT: Secret for Success training course is designed to help final year medical students prepare for the national FP Situational Judgement Test (SJT). The online webinar allows participants to become familiar with the SJT scoring system, common themes on which the exam is based, and principles which can be used to develop effective strategies when confronted with challenging scenario-based questions.
All of the material is explained with reference to example questions, updated to include the new sample published ahead of this year’s exams. During the second half of the interactive webinar, participants are able to work on examples together with the speaker and gain answers to any particular questions they may have.
The Situational Judgement Test (SJT) is part of the Foundation Programme application process and is designed to assess your judgement in responding to scenarios that an FY1 doctor can expect to face. Alongside the Educational Performance Measure (EPM), your SJT score counts for 50% of the overall mark determining your ranking among other foundation school applicants. It is often the deciding factor in whether or not you get your first choice foundation post.
