In 1977 five animal lovers, each pitching in $5, formed the Floyd County Animal Rescue League. We are a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to helping the companion animals of Floyd County, Indiana.
FCARL raised and contributed more than a third of the cost of the New Albany Animal Shelter which was opened in 2000 and we have an office base there. We continue to work with the Shelter and provide volunteers and financial support for needs such as vaccinations, testing supplies, medications, spay/neuter surgeries, foster & breed rescue assistance as well as adoption support.
