Description: Football for Water is a program in Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique in which the power of football is used to influence behavior in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
Football for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (F4WASH) is a unique program me using the power of football to inculcate healthy habits among school girls and boys in Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique .
From 2012 to 2019, F4WASH worked with local and international partners from the public and private sector, and development organi s ations active in th e field of w ater, s anitation and h ygiene (WASH). Through F4WASH, a round half a million children from 749 schools got football-based life skill education and access to W ASH facilities. And another quarter million community members were reached with hygiene messages through F4W ASH .
But the work is not done. We are currently embedding this approach in national education systems and in existing W ASH in S chools initiatives in Ghana and Kenya. In addition , we are planning to scale the approach in other countries and regions .
