I always knew I had the ability to ‘see’ things others did not: the line of a dancer, the potential in an actor, the way to emotionally move an audience. It has been a long journey, and I finally realize that my gift is not being able to choreograph, direct, or produce. My gift is that I am creative. I must create. It’s who I am.
Dance is more than just steps. Dance gives students the opportunity to be creative thinkers, collaborators, risk takers, and critical problem solvers. I'm known for my innovative curriculum design, implementation, and teaching style. My unique teaching philosophy creates a positive atmosphere where connection, technique, and creativity are expressed in a fun and meaningful, atmosphere.
Choreography moves audiences. When you see great choreography, you will know it. A choreographer should use dance as a vehicle to communicate, educate, create social change, entertain, and emotionally move people. I strive to achieve all of these things with my choreography. If I can make people think, laugh, or cry with my choreography, I have created something meaningful.
