Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) is the 5th largest oil and gas exploration and production Company of Pakistan. GHPL is a holding Company fully owned by the Government of Pakistan with investments in exploration and production sector. It was incorporated in the year 2000 as a private limited company under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (current Companies Act 2017). It is the third public sector Oil and Gas Exploration Company working under the Petroleum Division of Ministry of Energy, Pakistan.
The company was created with an aim to separate the commercial and a regulatory function performed by the Ministry of Energy, (Petroleum Division). It is currently operating as a non-operator partner for onshore petroleum E & P joint ventures and licensee of Government of Pakistan for offshore petroleum exploration. It has a paid up capital of Rs. 20.25 billion with an Authorized Capital up to Rs. 45 Billion. It also owns Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited, Pakistan LNG Limited and Pakistan LNG Termi
