He has been a Guggenheim Fellow, a Fulbright Fellow, and a visiting professor in Paris and Berlin. In 2004, he received Rutgers’ most prestigious faculty award, the Gorenstein Award for Research and Service, and he is now a University Professor at Rutgers, teaching in several different departments.
