Gillian McCulloch is primarily a portrait painter who works in a variety of mediums. She is drawn to painting portraits by her keen interest in people and the opportunity the genre offers to observe and to learn from each subject. Her many subjects have included Dr. Helen Creighton, Mr. Justice Roland Ritchie, Father Donald Campbell, actress Mary Colin Chisholm and film maker Lulu Keating.
