Graham (Mex) was born in Chelmsford and has lived in Essex most of his life, particularly at Waltham Abbey where he had a studio. He previously lived, painted and studied in Edinburgh gaining a diploma, an Andrew Grant Award and a commended post graduate qualification in drawing, painting and printmaking from Edinburgh College of Art. His work has been influenced by travels to Greece, Crete, Tunisia, Holland, France and Scotland and also by his studies of Egyptian, Mexican and British Art. Graham works from the life model and landscape direct, but many of his art works have a broader thematic approach being concerned with the energies of the planet, and its natural forces, more recently a series of paintings depicting athletes to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics.
