The Greenfield Family originated in Lincolnshire and came to Temple Hall Farm at Wellsborough in the late 1940s, Peter Greenfield broke away and with Sally, took on the tenancy of Norton Barn Farm in September 1962. With little money, but a great deal of hard work and determination, the result was a showpiece farm winning many accolades locally for ‘ best-kept farm ’ and crop and grass trophies.
In 1996 Martin took over the tenancy from his dad after studying at Brooksby College and working and contracting on many local farms, including setting up a contracted sheep shearing business (to bring in extra income).
In 2008 Martin decided to concentrate on maximising production on the farm by introducing herbal lays across the farm and increasing sheep numbers to above 1000 over the next few years.
